Forestry engineers are responsible for effective management of forest resources.

They:

  • Manage tree harvesting
  • Design logging roads and flood run-off systems
  • Ensure forestry activities do not negatively impact local communities
In your community:

Aboriginal forestry engineers have an important role to play in on-going land claims negations which will put the management of more and more forests in the hands of First Nations communities.

Forests are a gift from the Creator. Managing them requires a deep understanding and respect of their rhythms and life. Combining traditional wisdom with scientific knowledge will allow your community to ensure that the trees and the forests will stay healthy for seven generations and beyond.
