Production engineering

Production engineers put together systems of people, materials, machinery and money to make goods and services. Their goal is to provide goods and services of high quality.

Examples

Production engineer’s jobs are to focus on making the creation of goods run smoothly.

Production engineers:

  • Invent robots who can paints cars
  • Figure out how to package cookies so they won't crumble between the place where they are made and your kitchen
  • Study how fast pencils can be made in a pencil factory

In your community

Production engineers help increase the number of products being made from a factory. They also make sure that everything is safe for workers to use in logging, mining and fishing work. If your community has these kinds of industry, you could be the person to make them more successful.
